Trip itinerary:
Day 1 CASABLANCA - MEKNES - FEZ
After breakfast we will go to Rabat, where we will visit the most important places of this city, then we will continue to Meknes, to visit luxurious palaces and beautiful mosques and one of the most important souks of Morocco. We will continue the route arriving at the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a complex declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We will continue our way to Fez. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2 FEZ- FEZ
After breakfast we will visit Fez, a city that takes us back to the Middle Ages, which highlights its medieval Medina, with the Medersas (Islamic universities) of Attarine and Bou Anania, the Square and Fountain of Nejjarine, the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss and the Mosque of Karaouine. Lunch and afternoon visit to the souks. Lodging and dinner.
Day 3: Fez - Azrou - Midelt - Erfoud - Merzouga
In the morning, after breakfast, we will leave Merzouga passing through the city of Ifran, the so-called Moroccan Switzerland for its architectural style. There we will stop so that you can observe the wild monkeys in the cedar forest. Then we will leave for Midelt, “the capital of the apple”, at the foot of the Ayachi mountain. Stop for lunch. We continue through the Tizi-n-Talento pass and through the Ziz Valley, which is particularly known for its palm trees and the length of the oases. Along the way there are countless “ksars”, small villages of individual houses, to continue to Errachidia and then Erfoud, famous for its festival of dates and its fossils. We will arrive in Merzouga where the dunes of the Sahara desert, unique in Morocco, are located. The rest of the day will be dedicated to appreciate the change of the afternoon on the dunes. Night in Merzouga in the chosen accommodation.
Day 4: Merzouga and Erg Chebbi - dunes tour - Night in the desert.
This day will be devoted entirely to enjoy the desert. We will travel between the dunes in the 4X4, visit nomadic villages, see oasis and ride a camel in the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We will visit the famous village of Khamlia and enjoy its folk music. At sunset we will take the camels that will take us to the Berber camp in the heart of the dunes, where we will have dinner and spend the night. We will listen to drum music around a campfire and under the starry desert sky. You will stay in tents with bathroom and hot water and comfortable beds.
Day 5: Merzouga - Todra and Dades Gorges
After breakfast, departure to the Dades Gorges over the High Atlas through the Tizi N’tichka pass. On the side of the mountains we will see Berber villages and farms. We will continue to Ouarzazate, the capital of cinema in Morocco. Then through the road of the Thousand-Kasbahs we will take a road where we will have the opportunity to appreciate the tranquility of the mountains inhabited by Berber nomads. We will explore a new sense of daily life. We will arrive at the impressive Dades Gorge. Dinner and overnight in Dades.
Day 6: Dades Gorges - Valley of Roses - Ouarzazate
After breakfast, we will make a tour of the Gorges and the Dades Valley and visit the Kasbah of Aït Youl, traveling a route of unique landscapes for its diversity and colors. We will visit a family living in caves in the Vallé de Boutagrar, we continue through the Vallé des Roses to reach Kelaa M’gouna. Lunch in the village, then continue to the palm grove of Skoura, we continue to Ouarzazate. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
Day 7: Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - High Atlas - Marrakech
The last day we will visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the most famous of Morocco, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will be able to enter and learn about its history and secrets and enjoy the unique landscape for its color and vegetation. Then, we will continue to the north crossing the Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka pass, 2,260 meters high. We will arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon. End of our services.
