Trip itinerary:
Day 1: Marrakech - Tizi-n-Tichka - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Valley / Toudra Gorges
At 08.00 a.m. we will pick you up at the agreed place to start the trip from “Marrakech” to the “Dades Valley”, crossing the “High Atlas” mountains through “Tizi n’Tichka”, where we will have time to stop and enjoy breathtaking landscapes and Berber villages. You will have the opportunity to visit Ait Ben Haddou, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. This Berber Kasbah, which has been used as a very important destination for international filmmakers to shoot more than 20 movies, was also one of the strongholds of the most important fortress of the ancient “Salt Route”, where caravans brought slaves, gold, ivory, salt and silk from sub-Saharan countries to Marrakech and other nearby regions. We will pass through “Ouarzazate”, or what is known as “The Hollywood of Africa”, as it has also been a very famous destination for filmmakers, and continue to the “Dades Valley”, touring “Megoun”, “Skoura” (Berber villages throughout the valley). Dinner and overnight in the “Dades Valley”.
Day 2: Dades Gorges - Tenghir - Todra Gorges - Tinjdad - Erfoud - Merzouga (Overnight in the desert)
After breakfast, we will depart to the Sahara desert “Erg Chebbi” in “Merzouga”. A series of Berber villages are scattered along the way, we will pass through “Tinjdad”, “Jorf” and “Erfoud” where we will begin to feel the presence of the Saharan oasis of “Tafilalet”. We will arrive to “Merzouga” and there we will start our ride on camels, along the sand dunes, to reach the lodging where we will spend the night in the middle of the desert, in a nomad tent camp, (they have all the comforts, hot water, comfortable beds, bathroom) enlivened with drum music in the middle of the “Sahara”, being a great opportunity to take beautiful pictures of the sunset and sunrise, giving you the opportunity to walk up a large dune to see the sunset. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Erg Chebbi - (Merzouga) - Ziz Valley - Medilt - Ifrane - Fes
You can get up early to see the sunrise. After breakfast, we will return by camels to “Merzouga”, where we will take the car to start the journey to Fes.
We will make a stop on the way to enjoy a tea with a nomad family before passing through the “High Atlas” mountains. There we will stop in a village called “Midelt” where we will enjoy lunch. This is an impressive mountain town at an altitude of 1,488 meters, situated below the “Jbel Ayachi” (3,737 m).
In the afternoon we will continue our journey to the legendary city of “Fes”, where we will conclude our unforgettable tour.
